It starts with you. It ends as us.

Pilipino American Unity for Progress (UniPro) is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that envisions a unified and engaged Pilipino America. Founded in 2009, UniPro’s mission is to engage Pilipino Americans through collaboration, advocacy and education. It seeks to transform Pilipino students & young professionals into community leaders through its various programs, which incorporate professional development, history, and policy through the lens of the Pilipino experience. The organization allows Pilipino Americans the opportunity to explore their place in the community in the hope of owning their niche.

Ultimately, UniPro asks Pilipino Americans to critically answer, “How do you define Progress?”

Our Mission

We engage Pilipino Americans through collaboration, advocacy, and education.

Our Values

Collaboration | Integrity | Ingenuity | Identity

Collaboration is the foundation of UniPro. We believe in working with and for the Pilipino American community, seeking to be partners and facilitators. Many Pilipino American organizations work towards the same goals without even knowing it; UniPro seeks to bridge gaps and act as a connector so as to harness the community’s shared energy and resources. We provide the tools for organizations to build their capacity and connect with each other in order to create greater collective impact within the community and society.

We hold ourselves and the Pilipino American community to a high standard. We believe in transparency, honesty, and respect in our relations with people and organizations. We seek to foster a cooperative and candid community culture.

UniPro grounds its work within the culture and history of the Pilipino people, by examining issues through the lens of the Pilipino American experience. In order for Pilipino Americans to fully actualize our potential as changemakers, we believe that we should start with a deep appreciation and awareness of our community’s identity, by providing a platform for Pilipino American youth to discuss and reflect on the ways our colonial history continue to shape our individual and communal experiences.

UniPro seeks to discover and develop creative methods of community organizing, research, and movement building. We seek to change paradigms through our pioneering and scalable programming models. We believe that information, once discovered, should be shared across the community to influence change from the grassroots level.
